
Johnny Payne
He is a native from the state of Kentucky, and has lived in the Greenville SC area for 30 years. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, and minor in Sociology.
Johnny is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
He is a prostate cancer survivor and the chapter leader for the local chapter of US TOO International, Prostate Cancer Support Group. And the founder of the Upstate Prostate Cancer Alliance (a not-for- profit 501(c)(3) prostate cancer education organization).
Johnny is a 2009 recipient of the Edward C Kaps Hope Award is given to outstanding leaders in Us TOO support groups that have demonstrated unselfish, dedicated service to prostate cancer survivors and their families.
He is also the 2010 recipient of the Harry Pinchot award, given annual by the Prostate Cancer Research Institute to recognize the outstanding achievements of unsung heroes devoted to the mission of education and outreach to prostate cancer survivors and their families.
He volunteers and assists local hospitals with prostate cancer education programs and free prostate cancer screenings. Johnny is a Certified Prostate Cancer Community Awareness Educator. Johnny has appeared on local radio stations. His articles have appeared in Weekly Community newspapers in Greenville and Spartanburg counties.
Johnny is a familiar presence at Health Forums throughout the upstate, spreading his message of prostate cancer awareness and education. He shares his experience as a prostate cancer survivor.
